I grew
up in a family of artists in the mountains near
Malibu Beach, California. While hiking and exploring
the creeks and woodlands, I developed a deep love of
nature in all its beauty and danger.
I studied art at Pepperdine University, and later
found my calling in jewelry fabrication and design
in 1985 when I apprenticed with a silversmith in
Nevada City, California. A year later while studying
under a goldsmith, I learned Old World German
techniques of metal fabrication.
When I discovered the symbols of the Maori culture
of New Zealand, I became fascinated with the
visually powerful communication that wearing these
designs evoked. I was struck with their simple
beauty, and I’ve worked to bring forth designs that
connect ancient cultures with my art. In a changing
world, the symbolism from the past brings meaning
and provides a link to a greater sense of self. Many
of my designs come straight from my head and heart,
connecting with the whimsical spirit of our modern
culture. |

I have created for you, my family and friends, a
collection of wearable art meant to inspire and
excite the spirit in each of us. I pull my ideas
from nature’s “Golden Proportion,” using texture and
color combined with stones and beads carefully
chosen for their artistic and communicative value.
My handcrafted pieces are either fabricated in metal
or carved in wax, using the “lost wax” method of
casting, which was first used by the ancient Egyptians. Many
of my pieces are also hand-textured, giving them
added individuality. Carving and sculpting the wax
is the best part of the process for me. When I see
each piece transformed into silver or gold, it is
exhilarating.
Thank you for coming to my site, and please stop by
often…as I will be adding many new designs!
Enjoy!
